Description


Dhareshwar Temple is located at a distance of 11 km from Patan. There are seven steps on both sides to reach the temple of Dhareshwar. At the bottom of the stairs there is a shivling in the corner. On the left side of the Dhareshwar temple cave there are some more idols and Shivlinga. In the Puranas, it is said that Shri Ram, Bibhishan, Hanuman and Pandavas also worshiped Shivalinga and performed rituals at this place. Women are not allowed to enter the main Dhareshwar temple. Streams of water are falling from the plateau. This is the source of the river Kera. Dhareshwar is the patron deity of the Patankaras. The distance between Satara and Dhareshwar is 81 kilometers.
