Description


Nisare village is on the road leading from Karad to Navarasta village. Bahule village is located at a distance of six kilometers from Nisare fork. There is a temple of Bahuleshwar on the bank of the stream at the back of the village.

This temple probably dates back to the thirteenth century. The temple of Bahuleshwar is famous as Shiva Mandir.

Legend has it that the temple was built in one night. It is said that in the 18th century, Parshuram Narayan Angal, a moneylender of Nigdi, renovated this temple and completed it. A Shivlinga is installed in the center of the core.

There are idols of Hanuman, Ganapati, Devi, Vitthal etc. in the corner of core. The distance between Satara to Bahule is 64 kms.
